![]() The profit margin here is tiny as they'd not only be commiting to the initial port costs but also ensuring both clients remain in parity going forward. They'd have to invest hundreds of thousands on a Metal port (assuming they could even deliver a like-for-like performance on that API) and at best with MacOS making up 3.27% of the market they'd get about 65K additional sales (probably much less) based on the 2m Windows units shipped. If you want to discuss it here that's perfectly fine just know nobody from Frontier will ever see it.īased upon how things went with Elite Dangerous and Frontier completely removing MacOS support as of the end of last year the chances of them investing in Mac going forward is probably somewhere between slim and none. If you want the developers to see your posts then you'll need to take it to the official forums here. We don't work for Frontier and they don't actively monitor the Steam forums so lobbying for a Mac release here is going to fall on deaf ears. This story can be viewed only in the App Store. Publicado originalmente por henryfakesmile:Introducing Apple Arcade: A gaming service unlike any other. I’m heartened to see Apple devoting so much energy to maintaining and improving the quality of the App Store, especially while still keeping indie games solidly in the spotlight.Īs the App Store and other markets have become dominated by free-to-play games, often at the expense of so-called “premium” titles, this presents a potential solution. If you want to play Planet Coaster on a Mac, then you could try to use BootCamp. There are alternatives for OpenGL, such as Metal, but this would require extensive additional development, which is most likely (my personal words) not profitable. That is also one of the main reasons that Frontier had to end their support for the macOS version of Elite Dangerous. They can create any ride that they want and can choose from multiple game modes. It's an amusement park game wherein players can build a roller coaster park of their dreams. The equilevant of DirectX on macOS, OpenGL, is no longer supported by Apple, which is the main reason that there is no macOS version of the game. Planet Coaster is a premium simulation game for PC that was made by Frontier Developments. Planet Coaster hasn’t been developed for macOS because the engine of Planet Coaster (Cobra engine) requires DirectX to run. Hold on to your bunch of precious windows nerd users lololll jokes on you First of all, I’m a volunteer, not a developer/employee of Frontier, so do not blame me. Take a look at my game library I bought lots of games to support the developers who have shown us respect and treated us as human being If you treat Apple users like dirt then we won’t even be buying your games ! As I said before some games (especially 4x games) can be heavier on the system requirements than they let on. You can always have geforce optimize towards performance rather than quality as well. Open task manager performance tab and track down whats eating up your resources and end it. That being said you should be getting more than 20-40 fps. Its a great card ( i use it myself) but its still a budget card. The 1660 SUPER is the best BUDGET card on the market right now. I use the same card and I will usually lower certain settings that tend to have the most impact on fps (lighting, reflections, shadows, etc). As the game goes on there's more and more to render which over time can cause some fat frame drops. Looks like a 4x game and 4x games tend to be heavier on the system requirements than they let on.
